Take time to rest

Good morning and happy Thursday! I’m so excited that it’s almost the weekend. Work has been mentally exhausting this week for me and I need rest (and I’ve got about 1000 things I need to do).

We need rest: our bodies, our minds, and also our spirits. The world today says that we have to be going a million miles a second or we aren’t worthy. Our kids (not me) have to be in all the sports, we’ve have to go see the latest shows, we have to go do the latest things (in our new vehicles). I’m not a fan of the media.

Today my encouragement is to take time to rest. Time time to refresh yourself: physically, mentally, and spiritually. That rest doesn’t mean you have to sit and do nothing. I find that going and walking a trail at the State Park is one of the most refreshing things to do. It refreshes my mind as look at God’s beautify around me and get fresh air, it gives me time to talk to God, and as long as I don’t push it too hard it’s good for my body.

As you go through today, make it a point to pause and take a few deep breaths, allowing your body to just relax for a minute. Don’t focus on anything other than taking those deep breaths.

You can do it, I believe in you! Oh, and always remember to shine your light!
